The stylish, fresh, sexy, passionate, and sometimes cheeky Zuraida Jardine is
a multifaceted media personality, who has featured and presented on SA
TV's most popular magazine programs, and primetime radio slots.
Zuraida was South Africa's first celebrity winner of the hit
international TV series "Strictly Come Dancing", and was the first
female DJ in history to host a daytime show on 5FM. As Top Billing
presenter she interviewed some of the world's biggest stars, from Jamie
Foxx, Charlize Theron and Will Smith, to Colin Farrel, Carmen Electra
and Donald Trump, and covered top international events like New York
Fashion week. Other television highlights include hosting her own TV
show "Viscious Delicious", as well as reality shows Big Brother,
Headspace and Woza Weekend. She was also news reader on the TV show
“Cape @ Six”, and reported for the TV breakfast show, “AM Today”,
presented the “T.V. Licence Supercard” show and “Mr. South Africa”. On
radio, Zuraida presented on Good Hope FM for 5 years, before being
headhumted by 5FM.
Zuraida, who studied broadcasting journalism in California and also
received international diplomas in journalism and business
communication from the New York Business Institute, has been nominated
for South Africa’s "Most Stylish Celebrity" award in the "Elle Style
Awards", and as "Favourite Female DJ" in the "Star In You Awards" on
numerous occasions. She won the “People’s Crystal Award” for "Best
Dressed Television Personality", and in 2006 won the “YOU” award once
again, for South Africa’s “Favourite Female Personality”. She also
walked away with South Africa’s “Favourite Female Personality" award in
the "Kids Choice Awards" for three years consecutively (2003 - 2005).
In 2006, Zuraida was chosen to represent Africa in the “Breast Friends”
worldwide campaign - a book campaign launched to raise Breast Cancer
awareness. The book features Celebrities from all over the world,
including Marcia Cross, Jerry Hall, Ronan Keating, Geri Halliwell,
Rosanna Arquette, and many more.
She has also successfully tried her hand at acting, having starred in
the CNN drama documentary “Water World 2020”, SABC's “Die Lied Van Die
Lapop”, the MNET short film “Black Sushi”, and the powerfully moving and
internationally acclaimed stage production of the “Vagina Monologues”;
not to mention her gorgeous “Betty Davis Eyes” sparkling in PJ Powers
music video!
